J. Holiday, "Round 2"
Admittedly, I knew about this album the day it dropped (Mar 10, 2009) but other albums appeared before me, so what can I say...sorry J.A D.C.-native, J. Holiday jumped on the scene with the '07 hits "Bed", "Suffocate" and "Be With Me" (my fave) from his debut Back Of My Lac'. Now with his sophomore effort, Round 2 (Capitol), he's upping the ante for contemporary R&B. The entire album is (mostly) ballad upon ballad, with the exception of a few left-field tracks.
Nonetheless, standouts are: the lead single "It's Yours," "Wrong Lover" feat. Miami's own Rick Ross, "Lights Go Out," and "Make That Sound."
