BeBe & CeCe Winans - "Close To You" (Video)

Though their music has a gospel message, Detroit-bred brother and sister BeBe & CeCe Winans are essentially contemporary R&B. "Close To You" is their latest release from their new album, Still.

House & Dub Report #8 - Quiet Color

Once again, went around the world for this week's report: to Cali for Mr. Funk Boogie himself, Dam-Funk (Toeachizown)

...to Bulgaria for the funk of KiNK (Psyche Funk EP),
...and to France with Uzul & SKREAM for that "Rumble Inna Station."

As always, hope you enjoy the music as much as I enjoy finding it for you!
(Trust, there's a lot of dancing going on)

J. Holiday, "Round 2"

Admittedly, I knew about this album the day it dropped (Mar 10, 2009) but other albums appeared before me, so what can I say...sorry J.

A D.C.-native, J. Holiday jumped on the scene with the '07 hits "Bed", "Suffocate" and "Be With Me" (my fave) from his debut Back Of My Lac'. Now with his sophomore effort, Round 2 (Capitol), he's upping the ante for contemporary R&B. The entire album is (mostly) ballad upon ballad, with the exception of a few left-field tracks.

Nonetheless, standouts are: the lead single "It's Yours," "Wrong Lover" feat. Miami's own Rick Ross, "Lights Go Out," and "Make That Sound."

People Under The Stairs - "Trippin' at the Disco" (Video)

"Trippin' at the Disco" is the first video from Cali-based rappers People Under The Stairs' latest album, Carried Away (Om).

Duck Sauce - "aNYway" (2 Video Versions) Which is Better???

Armand Van Helden and A-Trak are Duck Sauce, as they say a collabo of "making house music and eating Chinese food." Hilarious. The official video version of "aNYway" is located here. However, check the Ghost-inspired alternate. All I can give: a creative thumbs up!!

Jesse Boykins III - "Shine" (New Video)

Soul crooner Jesse Boykins III drops another sweet single with this video release, "Shine."

But "Cold Pillow" w/ Theophilus London is truly my joint!

DJ Hero, We May Have Problems.

As I've stated on Twitter, I'm not a DJ or a gamer, but this DJ Hero (music video game) could become a problem, as it releases Oct 27. (Can we say early holiday gift for moi??)

Raheem DeVaughn - "Bulletproof" feat. Ludacris (New Video)

Premiering exclusively on his Twitter page today, "Bulletproof" feat. ATL's own Ludacris is the newest single from that R&B-hippie-neo-soul-rockstar better known as Raheem DeVaughn.

The song makes a strong statement regarding the state of our world today. It has a modern-day "Inner City Blues" vibe to it yet it reaches waaaaaay beyond the inner city. One word: Dopeness. Check it.

Basement Jaxx - "Feelings Gone" feat. Sam Sparro (Video)

Robin Thicke - "Sex Therapy" (Audio)

Produced by Atlanta-native Polow da Don, "Sex Therapy" is the first single from Robin Thicke's forthcoming album of the same name - due to drop Dec 8. Get sex (I mean sexy R&B) on iTunes and Amazon, right now!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Heads Will Roll" (A-Trak Remix)

Side note: Over the summer had the chance to geek out to another one of my fave DJs, NYC-based DJ-producer A-Trak. (He killed the decks at Warehouse Live in Houston!). Nonetheless, check this electro remix of "Heads Will Roll" from indie-rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs' third album, It's Blitz!. Dig it??? Download it at Beyond Race.

Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix) Club Edit - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Cubic Zirconia - "Fuck Work" (Video)

Brooklyn-based Cubic Zirconia (Tiombe Lockhart, Nick Hook, Todd Weinstock, Daud Sturdivant) is an amalgamation of electro-bass, hiphop, funk and whatever the hell else they feel like sharing. One thing for sure: they're killin' it right now.

In addition to remixing Kid Cudi's "Make Her Say" feat. Common and Kanye (which is sick!), here's the video for their debut single "Fuck Work." Also, check 'em w/ Dam-Funk at Brooklyn Bowl on Oct 27.

Lady GaGa - "Paparazzi" (New Video)

In this extended version of her 2009 VMA performance, the house known as Lady GaGa is poking mad fun at celebrity culture. Love her or not, this lady is in a class by herself. (Rightfully so!) Lookout out for the re-release of her debut, The Fame Monster - due in stores, Nov 23.
